Phil Fersht, Research Director, AMR Research Phil Fersht brings over 13 years’ business experience in the outsourcing and IT services industry to AMR Research. Phil is an acknowledged industry analyst and advisor across Outsourcing and IT services worldwide, having worked extensively in Europe, North America and Asia as an advisor, consultant and industry analyst in Business Process Outsourcing (Finance/Accounting, Human Resources and Procurement), IT Outsourcing, Shared Services and Offshore Services. During this time, Phil has served as an advisor on over 40 major outsourcing and offshoring engagements.Phil has previously served as a senior executive for Deloitte Consulting’s Outsourcing Advisory Services, where he led numerous outsourcing and offshoring advisory engagements with FORTUNE 500 enterprises. Prior to Deloitte, Phil served as Vice President for Everest Group, an outsourcing strategy firm, leading three research and consulting teams based in the US and India. His prior career involved serving as Vice President, Global IT Services, Software and Outsourcing for research firm Yankee Group, and as Research and Consulting Director for IT analyst IDC.Philip received a BS with Honors in European Business & Technology from Coventry University, United Kingdom, and a Diplôme Universitaire de Technologie in Business & Technology from the University of Grenoble, France.

Prior to founding ONTALA in 2008, Linda was a senior corporate Strategic Sourcing specialist for over 10 years. As CEO at Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace, she he led a successful turnaround of this start-up, launching the most comprehensive public sector eMarketplace globally. As Senior Vice President and Chief Sourcing Officer at Fifth Third Bank (10th largest bank in the U.S.), she played a key role in reducing the bank’s expenses by over $250 million and establishing a best practices outsourcing program . As Scotiabank’s Vice President, Strategic Sourcing and Executive Offices Shared Services, she advised the bank’s senior leadership on best practices in global sourcing and built an international Centre of Excellence. As Managing Director, Strategic Sourcing at BMO Financial Group, she was instrumental in bringing best practices in Sourcing and supply chain management from leading U.S. companies, establishing a Centre of Excellence and reducing the bank’s expenses by over $150 million. Earlier, she was in leadership roles in Corporate & Commercial banking, Retail banking and Human Resources.

As Editor, Ed Nair is responsible for upholding the brand values of Global Services, and creating credible content for its worldwide audience. Based in New Jersey, he manages a team of editorial staff spread across different locations in the U.S.A. and India, and oversees the U.S. operations for Cybermedia India Ltd., South Asia’s largest specialty media company. 
Ed has spent 17 years in technology research and media industries, handling a variety of functions that include industry research, sales and marketing, print and online content, and general management. In prior roles, he was the editor for enterprise computing at Dataquest, India’s leading IT publication and a senior analyst with IDC India. He won the Polestar Award for Best IT Journalist in India in 1998.
 
Ed has been tracking the global outsourcing industry since the early nineties when he was part of the World Bank funded study for the Department of Electronics, Govt. of India on software exports. His direct exposure to the outsourcing industry includes : A project at Tibco Software, Palo Alto, CA  where he worked hands-on at offshoring global marketing activities and advising First American Corporation, Phoenix, AZ on managing organizational change in large scale outsourcing operations. 
Ed holds a graduate degree with honors in electronics engineering from University of Mumbai and an MBA from Thunderbird School for Global Management, AZ.

Amit Singh, Partner, Avasant Mr. Singh has extensive experience in outsourcing strategy, financial modeling and leading strategic outsourcing initiatives for IT and business processes with a focus on enterprise applications.Prior to joining Avasant, Mr. Singh was with Gartner where he was the lead practitioner in its strategic applications and offshore sourcing domains.   • For a large, diversified food business - led an engagement to evaluate the sourcing strategy, establish a business case and recommend a governance structure for offshore applications development and maintenance.
  • For a large, international beauty products retailer - advised on the eCommerce application development, maintenance and hosting sourcing process. Developed the statements of work, service levels, fee reduction methodology and helped negotiate two separate sourcing deals.
  • For a large, diversified manufacturing & biosciences organization - led an engagement to create a business case for sourcing & implementing ERP globally. The business case involved multiple cost and benefits scenario creation, risk analysis and creating a high level ERP landscape.
  • For a large financial services company - assessed and provided recommendations on existing offshore application development & maintenance relationships, service levels, pricing and performance with multiple offshore providers.
  • For a large automobile manufacturer - led an engagement to outsource the Applications, Data Center and End User Computing environments. Applications tower included portfolio analysis, business case development and offshore outsourcing of multiple applications as well as middleware.
Prior to Avasant, Mr. Singh also held various positions at Patni Computer Systems, a large onshore offshore technology services provider, and at large consulting firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers and A.F. Ferguson.Mr. Singh has presented "F&A Outsourcing - Key Success Factors and Risks" as the Gartner subject matter expert at the SIM Conference, LA in 2004.Mr. Singh is a graduate of the Institute of Technology Banaras Hindu University, India, and holds an MBA degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
